AMUNDSEN PEAK
In 2011 – 100 years after Roald Amundsen was the first man to reach the South Pole, we went to Antarctica to test our ski collection. During the expedition, we made the first ascent of Amundsen Peak. The collection was later named after this mountain and holds the World's first technical knickerbocker. These garments are made for high-mountain ski touring and longer expeditions in mind. But they work equally well for most other outdoor activities across seasons, now with an even broader range of gear.
SCHOELLER 4-WAY STRETCH
Schoeller 4-Way Stretch Fabric offers optimal mobility with waterproof and breathable capabilities, made as a perfect companion for all adventures. Two textile surfaces are bonded with a highly breathable membrane in a special process, and the coating in the middle ensures waterproofness and high wind resistance. The outside layer is a water-repellent stretch fabric that withstands heavy rain and snow, while the inside layer is made of a soft and highly breathable fabric. Our Schoeller 4-way stretch fabric is PFAS free and Bluesign® certified.
C_CHANGE MEMBRANE™
C_Change™ by Scholler of Switzerland is adaptive climate control at its finest. This technical material is utilized in our most performance-oriented products, is a wind and waterproof 3-layer membrane which independently reacts to changing temperatures and activities. Depending on the situation, breathability or heat-retention increases or decreases. As a result, C_Change™ ensures a consistently pleasant body climate.
C_Change™ simulates the self-regulation of a pinecone, with it becoming more (or less) porous depending on shifts in external temperature. In doing so, both body temperature and moisture become balanced, leaving you comfortable through both harsh temperatures and intense physical exertion.
WATERPROOF VS. BREATHABILITY
Protection from the elements while you are outside is essential. The key to comfort in harsh climates is staying dry and warm, which means having waterproof + breathable outerwear. Striking this balance will vary depending on where you’re going and how you’re getting there. For more information on how to pick out the gear for the job, read more here.
GARMENT CARE
If you notice that the fabric of your jacket or pants is absorbing rather than repelling water, it means you'll have to reproof it. Read more here
