Earlier this season we introduced you to Kjell Vanghagen (82). A born Norwegian turned into Skiing Pioneer in Aspen, Colorado after being recruited by Stein Eriksen in the 60s. His childhood meant one thing; “Playing on skis” and at 82 years old he still chase the Play.

Fast forward from Kjells reminiscing of the 60s in Aspen – we find ourselves in Wyllerløypa, Oslo a spring afternoon in April 2025. An afternoon cruise in the “jump line” is about to get rolling together with Kasper Arnesen and Nicolai Kjellsby (both at the top of Norwegian freestyle skiing). In knickerbockers and gaiters they naturally chase Kjells childhood mantra; “Playing on skis”.

Double Cork 1080s, Switch Bio 720, Double Frontflips – the tricks and vocabulary have become advanced, but the mantra is still the same; its all about Play. It is refreshing to see that the spirits of the past that we often dream about is very much alive. The only thing that stopped Kasper and Nicolai this afternoon was that the lift stopped running.
