The Huntsman & Huntress Capsule

The season of the hunt & the harvest

AUSTRIA'S OLDEST LODEN MANUFACTURER, LEICHTFRIED (EST.1884)

Loden, a specific wool variety woven in Tyrol, Austria, is uniquely characterized by its water resistance. Its manufacturing process ensures that water droplets bead and run off its exterior, while maintaining a soft, felt-like feel.

These specific technical characteristics answered the needs of shepherds and farmers living in the Alps, who routinely faced extreme conditions throughout the winter. Our specific Loden, made in Austria’s oldest Loden factor, Leichtfried, is of only the most durable and weather-resistant quality.

Double-Woven Loden

The Huntsman and Huntress collection combines utilitarian design with timeless style – built to last generations in the field. Made from double-woven loden wool by Leichtfried of Austria (est. 1884).

Merino Wool

Loden wool is crafted from the finest merino fibers, blending centuries of heritage with the natural performance of wool. The merino base ensures softness and comfort against the skin, while the fabric’s durability allows it to withstand years of wear—developing a character and patina unique to each journey.

Weatherproof

Using double-woven loden wool from Leichtfried, this fabric beads off water, shields you from wind, and remains soft and silent throughout the twilight of the year.

For generations, the Norwegian autumn has been defined by the hunt and the harvest – a time to stock up and prepare for the cold, dark, winter months. This period of heightened connection with nature demands garments as timeless as the land itself.
