Montebelluna

Walking our boots back to Norway

To test the final prototypes of the Mountain Mucks, we set out to walk them home—from the boot factory in Montebelluna, Italy, all the way to Oslo.

The journey began with a wooden ski tour through avalanche-prone Dolomites, camping in remote huts and cooking over open fires.

Crossing into Austria and then Germany, we hiked, biked, and trained through Innsbruck and the Black Forest—encountering everything from alpine monasteries to surreal old hotels and long lakeside treks. A stop in Baden-Baden offered a rare luxury: thermal baths and real beds.

Reaching Denmark, we followed the endless beaches of the west coast, camping in the dunes and enjoying one unexpected gourmet dinner in Lønstrup. With the North Sea beside us, we inched closer to home.

The journey ended in Oslo, Norway with a seaplane landing in Oslofjord. After 12 days and over 1,000 kilometers, the boots had been tested across terrain, temperature, and time. Verdict: ready for adventure.
